Look Up, Silly! is a screen time management app that uses Apple's Screen Time API to help you manage app usage with mindful challenges. Privacy is our top priority. This privacy policy explains how Look Up, Silly! handles your information.

Data Collection

Minimal data collection with maximum privacy.

Look Up, Silly! does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to our servers. Everything you configure stays on your devices and in your private iCloud account. We use RevenueCat for optional contribution management, which collects anonymous transaction data (see Contributions section below).

Your Data Storage

iCloud Storage

• Your app settings and preferences are stored in your private iCloud account
• This includes: blocked apps selection, allowed apps, pause preferences, and statistics
• Data syncs across your devices using Apple's iCloud infrastructure
• We have no servers and cannot access your iCloud data
• Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple's iCloud security

Local Storage

• Look Up, Silly! works offline by storing data locally on your device
• Local data syncs to your iCloud when connected to the internet
• All local storage is protected by your device's security features
• Data is isolated in Look Up, Silly!'s secure app container

Screen Time Data

Critical: Your Screen Time data, including which apps you block and use, is processed entirely locally on your device using Apple's FamilyControls API. This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is not accessible to us in any way
• Is managed by Apple's Screen Time framework
• Stays within Apple's secure ecosystem

Types of Data Stored (All Private)

The following data is stored ONLY in your iCloud and on your device:

• Blocked app selections
• Always-allowed app selections
• Challenge completion statistics
• Pause preferences and schedule
• Unlock duration settings

Important: None of this data is accessible to us. It remains private to you.

What We Don't Do

• ✓ No Third-Party Data Sharing - Your data is never shared with anyone
• ✓ No Behavioral Tracking - We do not track your app usage patterns
• ✓ No Data Selling - We do not and will never sell user data
• ✓ No Servers - We don't operate servers that store your information

Third-Party Services

Optional Contribution Management

Look Up, Silly! uses RevenueCat to manage optional one-time contributions. If you choose to contribute, RevenueCat may collect:

• Anonymous user IDs (generated by RevenueCat, not linked to your usage data)
• Purchase receipts (handled by Apple's App Store)
• Contribution status

Critical: Your app usage data, Screen Time data, and personal information are never shared with RevenueCat or any third party. Only anonymous contribution status is processed, and only if you choose to contribute.

Apple App Store

When you download Look Up, Silly! from the App Store, Apple may collect information as described in their privacy policy. We have no access to this information.

Permissions

Screen Time / Family Controls (Required)

• Why: To block apps and show challenge overlay
• What we access: Apple's FamilyControls API to manage app blocking
• Who sees it: Only you. Apple processes Screen Time data locally. We have zero access.

iCloud Access (Optional)

• Why: To sync your settings across devices
• What we access: Only the private container allocated to Look Up, Silly! in your iCloud
• Who sees it: Only you. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

No Other Permissions Required

Look Up, Silly! does not request access to:

• Your location
• Your camera or photos
• Your contacts
• Your microphone
• Your calendar
• HealthKit or health data
• Any other sensitive data

Data Security

Your data security is ensured by:

• Apple's iCloud encryption - All data encrypted in transit and at rest
• iOS sandboxing - Look Up, Silly! can only access its own data container
• Screen Time API security - Apple's framework protects Screen Time data
• No network transmission - Your usage data never leaves your device
• Device-level encryption - Protected by your device passcode/biometrics

Children's Privacy

Look Up, Silly! can be used by users of all ages. We do not collect any personal data from any users, including children. All data remains private on the user's device and in their iCloud account. For users under 18, parental supervision is recommended for Screen Time management decisions.

GDPR Compliance & Your Data Rights

Look Up, Silly! is fully GDPR compliant. Since we don't collect your data, you always have complete control.

Right to Access

All your data is accessible to you at any time on your device. Your settings and statistics are always visible and under your control.

Right to Delete

You can delete the app at any time. This removes all local data. To remove iCloud data, delete the app data from your iCloud settings.

Right to Portability

Your settings are stored in standard formats in your iCloud, accessible through your Apple account.

Data Retention

• Your data: Stored only in your iCloud and on your devices
• Deleting app: Removes all local data immediately
• We retain: Nothing. We never had access to your data.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices, we will:

1. Update this privacy policy
2. Update the "Last Updated" date
3. Make reasonable efforts to notify users through an app update
4. Request new permissions if required for new features

Our core commitment: your data remains private and under your control.

International Users

Look Up, Silly! is available worldwide. Your data is stored in your iCloud account, which may be stored in Apple data centers in various countries according to Apple's policies. We do not transfer, process, or access your data in any location.

However, please note: we cannot help with data recovery or access because we don't have access to your data. Your data is in your iCloud account and on your device, which only you control.
