Overview

Hemsaga is a home management app for organizing your homes, purchases, maintenance, mortgages, supplies, and running costs. This privacy policy explains how the app handles your personal information.

Data Collection

Hemsaga does not collect, store, or send your personal data to our servers. Everything you track stays on your devices and in your private iCloud account. We use RevenueCat for subscription management, which processes anonymous subscription data (see Third-Party Services below).

Your Data Storage

iCloud Storage

• All your home data is stored in your private iCloud account
• This data syncs across your devices using Apple's iCloud infrastructure
• We have no servers and cannot access your iCloud data
• Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple's iCloud security
• Your information stays within Apple's ecosystem

Local Storage

• Hemsaga works offline by storing data locally on your device
• Local data syncs to your iCloud when you're connected to the internet
• All local storage is protected by your device's security features
• Data is isolated in Hemsaga's secure app container

Types of Data You Store (All Private)

The following data is stored ONLY in your iCloud and on your device:

• Home profiles (names, types, photos, addresses, entry codes, alarm codes)
• Records (purchases, appliances, renovations, warranties, serial numbers)
• Receipts (images, vendor, amounts)
• Maintenance tasks (schedules, reminders, assignments, completion history)
• Service contacts (names, phone numbers, emails, categories)
• Mortgages (lender, amounts, interest rates, payment schedules)
• Supplies (inventory, quantities, minimum stock levels, storage locations)
• Running costs (utility bills, monthly amounts, cost categories)
• Inbox items (quick capture notes, photos)
• Attachments (photos, documents linked to records)

Important: None of this data is accessible to us. It remains private to you.

What We Don't Do

• ✓ No Data Collection — We do not collect your home data or personal information
• ✓ No Usage Tracking — We do not track how you use the app
• ✓ No Advertising — No ads in the app
• ✓ No Third-Party Data Sharing — Your data is never shared with anyone
• ✓ No Data Mining — We do not analyze your home records or spending patterns
• ✓ No Data Selling — We do not and will never sell user data
• ✓ No Servers — We don't operate servers that store your information

Third-Party Services

RevenueCat (Subscription Management)

Hemsaga uses RevenueCat to manage premium subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect minimal information necessary to process subscriptions:

• Anonymous user IDs (generated by RevenueCat, not linked to your home data)
• Purchase receipts (handled by Apple's App Store)
• Subscription status

Your home data, addresses, codes, and records are never shared with RevenueCat or any third party.

Apple CloudKit (Sync & Sharing)

Hemsaga uses Apple's CloudKit for data sync and home sharing:

• Syncs your data across your Apple devices through your iCloud account
• Lets you share homes with family members or housemates
• All data is managed by Apple's infrastructure, and we have no access to it

Permissions

Camera (Optional)

• Why: To take photos of your homes and records
• What we access: Only photos you actively take within the app
• Processing: All photos stay on your device and in your iCloud
• Availability: Camera option is only shown on devices with a camera. Permission is requested on first use; if denied, you can grant access later in iOS Settings.

Photo Library (Optional)

• Why: To attach existing photos to homes and records
• What we access: Only photos you explicitly select
• Storage: Selected photos are copied into your Hemsaga iCloud container

iCloud (Required)

• Why: To sync your home data across your devices
• What we access: Only the private container allocated to Hemsaga in your iCloud
• Who sees it: Only you. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

Notifications (Optional)

• Why: To remind you about maintenance tasks and low supply alerts
• What we send: Local notifications only — no server-side push
• Control: You can disable notifications at any time in Settings

Data Security

Your data is protected by multiple layers:

• Apple's iCloud encryption — All data encrypted in transit and at rest
• iOS sandboxing — Hemsaga can only access its own data container
• No network transmission to third parties — Your home data stays within Apple's ecosystem
• Device-level encryption — Protected by your device passcode/biometrics

Children's Privacy

Hemsaga is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you are under 18, you must have parental consent to use this app. All data remains private in the user's iCloud account.

GDPR Compliance & Your Data Rights

Hemsaga is GDPR compliant. You have full control over your personal data.

Right to Access

All your data is accessible to you at any time within the app. Your homes, records, and settings are always visible and under your control.

Right to Data Portability (Export)

You can export all your data at any time:

• How: Settings → Privacy → Export Data
• Format: JSON file
• Includes: All homes, records, maintenance tasks, contacts, mortgages, supplies, costs, and settings
• Save to: iOS Files app or share via any standard sharing method

Right to be Forgotten (Delete All Data)

You can permanently delete all your data at any time:

• How: Settings → Privacy → Delete All Data
• What gets deleted: ALL homes, records, tasks, contacts, mortgages, supplies, costs, inbox items, attachments, and settings
• Confirmation process: Confirmation dialog before deletion
• Permanence: Deletion is immediate and permanent with NO recovery option

Deletion Protection

To prevent accidental data loss, the deletion process requires confirmation before proceeding. We recommend exporting your data first using the export option above.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices, we will:

1. Update this privacy policy
2. Update the "Last Updated" date
3. Make reasonable efforts to notify users through an app update

The bottom line: your home data stays private and under your control.
